Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser | Review
Updated: Aug 23, 2018
It feels like a million years since I wrote a review post. Probably because it was! Today I finished using the Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Facial Cleanser so thought I should write a review before I throw it out.
I am always trying new cleansers. Its one of those skin care products that I feel can be switched and changed around depending on my skins needs. When a friend recommended this to me I thought I would give it a go. I already use their Rosehip oil every day and love it.
Lets start with the packaging. It is the cutest little brown plastic bottle with rose pink labelling. The pump is a great addition making it perfect for use in the shower. It contains 140grams for around the $14 mark full price. It has surprisingly lasted me for ages and I use it twice a day. My only issue is the pump does not reach all the way to the bottom of the bottle so there was still some left that the pump would not pick it up.
The cleanser is soap free and contains certified organic Rosehip oil and Aloe Vera for hydration. It is a thick gel formulation and smells amazing. It did take a bit for me to get it to foam up though. Usually needed to add a little more water to my hands after I have applied it to create a nice foam.
'Gently cleanses while replenishing your skin's natural moisture barrier. Rich in Certified Organic Rosehip Oil and active natural botanical extracts such as Aloe Vera for hydration. Soap free and soothing to renew and cleanse skin without drying.'
There is no animal testing with this brand which I love as well and the cleanser doesn't contain any Parabens, Sulphates, Silicones, Phthalates, Ethoxylates, PEGs, PPGs, Mineral Oils or GMOs.
I am an oily skinned girl and didn't find this to be too 'oily' on my skin even though it contains Rosehip oil. Quite the opposite actually. It felt nourishing without being heavy. Having said that I am not sure how it would go on dry skin even though it says is suitable to all skin types. I would never consider a gel based formula to be hydrating enough with dry skin. If you are a dry skin girl and have tried this make sure you leave a comment below to let others know if it worked for you.
It was gentle enough for every day use and the smell always made it a pleasure to use. Gave it a luxurious feel for a budget price. Would I buy this again? That would be a yes.
