Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Full Coverage Foundation Review

Updated: Aug 23, 2018

Foundations are one of my favourite products to try. Every occasion needs a different foundation. Sometimes you want something light and natural, or extra matte on those hot steamy summer days and sometimes that full coverage is needed. I have seen quite a few posts from people loving the new formulated Maybelline Super Stay 24H Full Coverage Foundation so, you guessed it, I saw it on sale and decided it was time to give it a try. Maybelline rarely lets me down so hoping this foundation will be the same.

The Maybelline website states: 'Superstay 24HR® Foundation is a hi-pigment, long wear, full coverage foundation that corrects visible flaws to transform skin.'

The Australian website has 14 colour shade options but the American Maybelline site lists 16. Not sure why Australia always gets less colour options. Do they not realise that we are a multicultural country with a large variety of skin colours and tones? Honestly I actually feel like we get a little ripped off here in Australia with our makeup product options compared to other countries but that is another blog topic all together.

I love foundations with a pump! So I was super excited that this one has one - thumbs up Maybelline! I find pumps make them less messy, more hygenic and you use/waste so much less product.

The bottle itself is clear glass (keep it away from those bathroom floor tiles) with a white cap and pump. I like the simplicity of the packaging, and glass always gives that high end feel about a product. There is 30 mls of product and in Australia it retails for $24.95 but there is always a sale somewhere on Maybelline so wait till you can find it for a better price.

One of my favourite affordable foundations is the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless. The formula is awesome but at times I feel like the colour range is just not the best for my warm toned skin. So I thought that when I bought the Super Stay 24H foundation I would have the same trouble. I swatched a few and decided to try 036 warm sun. Its a great match for my summer tone. Yay!

Formula wise, it is definitely full coverage. I found it went on best with a beauty blender but also worked ok with my Nude by Nature buffing brush and finished off with the beauty blender. Lasting power? I can't fault it. It has been humid and hot here lately, so hot that I have a permanent sweat-stash - Yuck! This foundation has been a saviour, it does not budge or break up. It lasted all day long which for me was 6am start and still going at 6pm. I think it would have lasted even longer, but not sure I would leave my foundation on for 24hours straight just to test it out. My skin would not be happy with me..

Being an oily skinned girl, I am not sure how this would wear on dry skin. If you were wanting to give it a go I would recommend applying it with a damp beauty blender rather than a brush as the moisture would help to apply a more even blended finish.

Final Thoughts

I am pretty impressed with this foundation. It ticks all the boxes for me. I love that I can put it on and get a flawless base that will survive our summer humidity and still look good at the end of the day. Love that I could easily find a medium warm toned shade as well. No mixing necessary! Will I purchase again? Hell yes! xx

Have you tried this foundation? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments.
